Ithaca area potter

I went into a shop in Ithaca, new York called Handwork, and was impressed by the work of Colleen McCall who lives in Elmira. I was able to drive up there to see more of her stuff at a store called Cappy's, and even to visit her studio! what a treat!
She has a blog, just google and you'll find it, I'm using the iPad and can't do links on it,

  1. these are lovely! Seems potters are making 'lighter' dishes these days. I was looking through a few british home magazines last evening and came across several potters doing work which I liked. Susanna Spanring [blues and white] and Lucy Dunce...did I tell you that in one of the spring Home magazines [forgot which one - it was at the dentist office] there was highlighted a "row" house in Savannah - probably just down the block from one of your favourite coffee shops:)

  2. I will google these names and see what they make! I am continually amazed by the Internet and how you can see so much,

  3. oh my - those dishes are beautiful - evocative, in a way, of some antiquey oriental pieces, but still fresh and new...you're right about the internet - it does open some wonderful windows for us to peek through!
enjoy the rest of the weekend!
    cheers
